9 November Events To Inspire Your Holiday Spirit!!

Alright, we’ll admit it. It’s officially fall! While that may not seem like the most optimal time to partake in typical SoCal activities (and it might be true), we are extremely adaptable. November is the perfect season for embracing the spirit of the month: leaves on the ground, pumpkins, pies, brisk air—all that good stuff! And even if we don’t get all of that for real, we can at least pretend, right? This month in the South Bay, you can expect a plethora of season-appropriate events… we promise!

1.Sandy Saute

Lace up those sneakers (or dust off those feet) because Pants Off Racing is hosting the 6th annual Sandy Saute beach run! On November 2nd, you can channel your inner Baywatch and run (or jog superrr slow and dramatic) two miles along the Pacific shore. The event kicks off at 2 p.m. and will raise funds to support families affected by pancreatic cancer. Do a good deed, break a sweat, and show your support! We’ll see you there!

2.Dia De Los Muertos Celebration

Embrace those you have lost by experiencing Gardena’s Dia de los Muertos celebration on November 2nd from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the City Hall Lawn! Partake in an evening of delicious eats, fun games, crafty activities, and lively music while honoring the departed. There will be real altar displays focused on the tradition of reuniting the living with the dead. 3.Weaving and Fiber Festival

November means scarf weather, right? Maybe sweater weather? Either way, it’s definitely time to pull out those meticulously-crafted, cozy pieces. And what better way to celebrate than at the Weaving and Fiber Festival at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center on November 3rd! Discover the unique artistry behind homemade textiles with workshops, vendor booths, demonstrations, and even a raffle! Embrace the fiber fun and learn something new while supporting local artists—it’s the perfect season to celebrate all things cozy and creative!

4.City of Gardena’s Casino Night

Feeling lucky? Join us at the Nakaoka Community Center for some friendly gambling fun at Gardena’s Casino Night on November 15, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.! Put that chip on the table and try your hand at winning big during the Double-Down Special from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., where you could make your day twice as lucky! Ante packages are required for entry, and all proceeds benefit the Senior Citizens Bureau. Roll those dice, and we’ll see you there!

5.Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan

Looks like Christmas came early this year! On November 17, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., the Coca-Cola Caravan is bringing magic to the cliffs of the PV Peninsula at Terranea! Rolling up in style, the famous shiny-red truck—complete with jolly ol’ Santa—will spread joy and cheer with loads of seasonal treats. Expect Santa meet-and-greets, live entertainment, and festive food and drinks to get you in the holiday spirit! This event is perfect for the whole family, so make sure to pop on by!

6.Pier Lighting and Holiday Open House

If we’re talking iconic South Bay events, the Pier Lighting definitely takes the cake! On November 20th, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Manhattan Beach Pier, get ready to experience a holiday spectacle that’s uniquely SoCal. Watch the Manhattan Pier light up with a giant tree of lights on the Roundhouse Aquarium and fresh Christmas trees lining the pier. Plus, a holiday open house will be happening in downtown MB at the same time! Sip some cocoa, munch on gingerbread, and deck yourself out in holiday gear. It’s time to shine—see ya there!

7.Hermosa for the Holidays

Holiday cheer has hit Hermosa! The 4th Annual Hermosa for the Holidays is coming to downtown Hermosa Beach from November 22-24! This festive weekend merges the Holiday Open House and Tree Lighting Ceremony, creating an “open-air winter wonderland by the beach”. Expect seasonal shopping, a Ferris wheel, live entertainment, Santa meet-and-greets, a donation center, and so much more. It’s the perfect way to kick off the holidays—don’t miss out on this unforgettable celebration!

8.Turkey Trot

Gobble gobble! It’s that time of year again! Torrance will be hosting the 44th Annual Harry Sutter Memorial Turkey Trot Fun Run on November 28th at 8 a.m.! This family-friendly three-mile loop around the neighborhood encourages some healthy, pre-dinner bonding time. Participants are encouraged to donate food for local South Bay residents in need this Thanksgiving. Plus, there will be post-run chances to win mountain bikes, gift cards to local food vendors, and more. Sounds like a feel-good time—take on the challenge if you’re not too turkey!

9.Pickleball Turkey Tournament

Get ready for some thrilling post-Turkey Day fun with a twist on everyone’s (some people’s) favorite food… the pickle (kinda)! From November 29th to December 1st, Sketchers will host its 4th Annual MB Pickleball Turkey Tournament ! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, there’s a bracket for everyone, with divisions for age, skill level, singles, doubles, and men’s and women’s. While a little competition is encouraged, this tournament is all about fun and social connections. Every player gets a t-shirt, and winners snag medals. So, come check it out—and leave the bad attitude at home!
